Stellar Repair for Exchange Review 2022

As a Cloud Architect, I help my clients migrate from on-premises to cloud. Sometimes, I encounter various issues that make the process challenging and time-consuming. Mostly, it is the Exchange Servers that cause the issues. The issues occur due to corrupted backup files or corrupted EDB files. After spending countless hours on resolving these issues and when I was looking for an easy solution, I stumbled upon Stellar Repair for Exchange.

Stellar Repair for Exchange scans and extracts data from the corrupt EDB file, repairs it, and then allows to save its data in various formats, such as PST, MSG, EML, RTF, PDF, or HTML. The data can also be directly exported to a Public Folder, live Exchange, or Office 365. The software does not make any changes to the original data. A summary or log of all the activities is also available to analyze the complete repair process.

This tools works in the following scenarios:

·       Updated backup is not available

·       Database is not mounting

·       Database is in dirty shutdown state

·       Eseutil failed to repair database

·       Exchange server crashed and database is not accessible

·       Log file is missing or corrupt

Steps to repair EDB file using Stellar Repair for Exchange

·       Download and install Stellar Repair for Exchange through a simple installation wizard.

·       Run the application and you will see this home screen.

·       Click on ‘Browse’ button to select the corrupt Exchange database.

·       Right-click on the users and select the appropriate output option. I wanted to import the data into the user’s Office 365 account.

·       Enter the credentials of the user on which you want to restore Exchange database.

·       Once completed, you will get the popup stating the same.

·       Login into the user account to verify the restored Exchange database.

Experience: This is a very critical job, when you have corrupt EDB file and want to migrate complete data to Office 365. I have tested this feature and it is remarkable. The software is very useful for Exchange admins, who are responsible for business continuity.

Saving the EDB Data to PST

·       For saving the data to PST, just select the ‘Save as PST’ option.

·       Select the destination path and click ‘OK’.

·       Once completed, you will get the popup stating the same.

You can also export to live Exchange Server using the ‘Export to Exchange Server’ option.

Experience: I have tested the ‘Live Exchange’ feature, when my Exchange Server was crashed and I was not able to recover it. To restore the server in this scenario, I need to restore it in same Exchange organization with same database schema version. So I have used this feature of Stellar Repair for Exchange. It helped me open the offline EDB and export all recovered data to new live Exchange Server without setting up the AD.

·       To export complete EDB file or multiple mailboxes, select the ‘Save’ option.

·       Now select the saving option, as per your need.

·       The feature that I liked the most is prioritize mailbox recovery. If you want to recover critical mailboxes first, you can do it in a few easy clicks.

·       Another advanced feature is parallel recovery of mailboxes. You can recover up to 4 mailboxes at the same time.
